introduces newly curated afternoon tea
in partnership with Lalani & Co and Maitre Choux Artiste Patissier.
Specialists in craft, single-batch tea, Lalani & Co have worked with three Michelin-star pastry Chef Joakim Prat from Kensington patisserie Maitre Choux, and the team at Blakes Hotel, to pair four signature choux pastry éclairs with complementary teas.
Each tea in the Lalani & Co collection and featured on the new afternoon tea menu, is a unique single-batch from its garden’s best season, traceable to where and when it was made.
Guests are able to enjoy from the signiture selection;
Caramel à La Bretonne & Kyoto Oolong Sanbancha Tea: a Salted Butter with Homemade Caramel éclair, paired with an incredibly rare Kyoto Oolong from Japan. The tea boasts apricot fruit notes and acidity, toasty biscuit hints and a smooth texture reminiscent of apricot cheesecake, perfectly partnered with one of Maitre Choux’s classics.
Trésor à La Noisette & Gold Leaf Black Autumn Tea: this tea is rich in gold leaf buds and has been paired with a gold-dusted Hazelnut & Milk Chocolate Treasure. The tea is sweet and silky with cocoa and toffee notes.
Délice Rose à La Framboise & Himalayan Bouquet: is Maitre Choux’s Spanish Raspberry favourite comes with an Autumnal oolong from a tiny garden in Nepal. Featuring an apricot and peach opening and nutty, woody tobacco finish.
Café Pur Arabica & Himalyan Imperial Black Summer: This is a black tea with deep and delicious chocolates notes, slightly caramelized with a hint of smoke and a silky body. Picked from Jun Chiyabari garden at 6000ft, this tea has been paired with a coffee flavoured éclair.
Each pairing will cost £12.75 and will be available in Blakes Courtyard
A glass of Prosecco can also be added for an additional £9 and Champagne for £13.
